| | How to Determine Real vs Counterfeit COH I'D BE ETERNALLY GRATEFUL FOR ANY INFO YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE, PLEASE PM ME! THIS STICKY WILL BE A WORK IN PROGRESS--I CAN USE ALL THE HELP I CAN GET! TAGS - Authentic size tags have a silver or cellophane colored strip embedded with microstitching that says "Citizens of Humanity" - Please note that some authentic older cuts/styles do not have microstitching - The reverse side of the size tag on authentic older cuts print the mispelling "intruction" but newer cuts are spelled correctly (inStruction) - Fabric tags sewn into the inside waistband should be attached smoothly and stitched in a clean manner - Most fake fabric tags are wrinkled with sloppy stitching and perhaps fonts that seem 'off' - Newer authentic cuts/styles have the larger care instruction tag in a satin type fabric - Older authentic cuts/styles may have care instruction tags printed on a woven cotton twill type fabric with ridges - Older authentic cuts/styles may have a size tag printed on a woven cotton twill type fabric WASH - Most fake COH have exaggerated distress fading at the front hips, similar to pencil eraser lines or "stripes" in high contrast - Please be aware that some authentic washes do not photograph well and flash photography enhances the contrast therefore making them look fake - If you think they're real but the hip whiskering looks too harsh, also check the inner thigh whiskering; the fade is very subtle & has a nice "ombre" effect - Most fake COH have a grainy or rough appearance to the fabric, sometimes you may see vertical streaks throughout the fabric from a low quality weave POCKETS - The biggest indicator when comparing real vs. fake is the placement and shape of the pocket details - Pay attention to starting point of the "h".Regarding the right back pocket, real stitching starts at or as close as possible to the upper left corner, with the
exception of some styles (ie: Siena, Emmanuelle, Wimbledon, Simone, etc) - Pocket fabric on the inside of real jeans should be clean, not linty nor too wrinkled; the stitching should not be sloppy - The tail end of authentic traditional "h" pocket styles usually end about a 1/3 of the length down from the top when examining the right back pocket - Older authentic "h" pockets may have a wider "hill" on the "h"--I'm referring to the bump that make the 2nd half the "h" shape OTHER - Newer authentic cut/styles have rivet backs that say "cobrax original" - Please note that some authentic older styles have a stylized "h" stamp on the back - Older authentic cuts may also have a combination of "cobrax original" and the "h" - There are only a handful of sellers on eBay that sell authentic denim on a regular basis - Be cautious of sellers who only use stock pics in their auctions.Ask for pictures of actual items and/or tag pics.If they give you an excuse, stay away - Sellers who have several of the same style with the same cut number and use the same pic for every auction are typically counterfeit Bianca has a great site to reference for fake cut numbers, though it hasn't been updated in a while

Some say "Citizens of Humanity" and some say "Security"
Some have no visible microstitching and look like tinsel.
