okkk so I am FiNALLY! posting pics of my little shack...Ive been here for about 3 weeks now. I hate it...the whole building has this really bad smell to it since it has been here since the 1800s or something - AND the dust is horrible!! eeek, i wake up sick every morning due to my allergies. Anyone have any good solutions for dust besides pretty much cleaning everyday like I already do? I would appreciate it!

Deb you are living in one of the most expensive places in the country! Of course it is a box. It is very cute and I am glad you have such a pretty view. Have you tried an air filter?

Make sure the humidity levels are kept in check as well. When I lived near the water (lake not ocean), my de-humidifier was my best friend. I had allergies though caused more from mold/bacteria (something from the water) more than dust which surprised me. I loved being near the water, so my allergies were worth it!

I love everything you've done to decorate the space! Very cute and trendy--the colors are fantastic. You are definitely making the most out of an ugly old building. I hope you are able to move soon.

As for the dust, I would try to buy one of those HEPA environmental fans. They may be a bit pricey, but it would be worth it. And may I also suggest doing a daily sinus rinse? It's gross, but it works. I mean, when dust gets into your sinus cavity, it can't get out, so you have years worth of dirt up in there.

they are not literally on the floor..hehe. i have 2 suitcases underneath i've yet to find something that will fit in my closet so i can store my jeans in there!

I was gonna suggest the air filters too. Its been a while but I think I got mine at Bed, bath and beyond?? They work well for allergies.
