I adore this style. I know it has been going on for awhile now on the fashion forums and seems to come in and out of style every couple years. I have been wearing super baggy vintage 501's and LOOOOVE it!!! I am wearing them now!!
Super comfy and easy to wear when you are running around. How can you go wrong. Though I am not a fan of Katie holmes either I think she looks fine. The pin roll is a bit much but I still think with her choice in shoes and tops she is pulling it off well.

VB's look good. I'm sure Melanie/iluvshopin's style looks especially righteous.

Katie's version is FUG!

OMG, I was thinking the same thing. I have seen a few celbs doing that. Just plain gross.....

I like the "baggy" look as in Tr Ellas or a wide leg. Has to be paired with a fitted top. IMO

I tend to keep a pair or two like the ones VB is wearing in my wardrobe and wear them pretty much the same way that is pictured.

Katie Holmes looks silly, imo. She brings me back to middle-school with the way she is rolling them close to her ankles like that. AWFUL!

K, there is no way those are Tom's jeans. They'd be WAY too short for her.

I like VB's. They're cute, but I think she pulls it off well because she's so tiny. I'd look stupid. And I hate fitted tops on me! BOO!

I don't like the baggy cut. I can see a little loose but baggy reminds me of the 90's where the gangstas were sporting that style. Some still do...

I like baggy jeans, I like them because they’re comfy and I don’t have a constant reminder that I’m a little overweight..

They just look comfortable. Heidi Klum, SJP and Victoria Beckham been spotted recently wearing them.

I'm 30 lbs overweight, and if I wear this look, I know I will look more than 30 lbs overweight

On the other hand, those ladies above are super duper slim and the style looks good on them. Well, not really on Heidi Klum--her jeans are pretty fug with the 11" rise.

I agree. Wearing over-sized clothes does not look better on people who are overweight. It just adds bulk which I would assume is not the look most women are going for.

I like them on VB, but not KH....just a plain old t-shirt paired with the jeans. It would be nice to have a pair you could wear and not want to take off as soon as you walk in the door from a long day. I doubt I'll wear this trend, but I may change my mind.

Ok...I'm rethinking this thing...anyone know where I can try them? I haven't seen any around, aside from wearing boy's jeans...and then they aren't cut right.

Anybody been paying enough attention to tell me who's making them? I want to try them. I think I have a sort of "boyish" bod (until you get to my chest! ) so I wonder if I can pull it off???

^The brand that VB and KH are wearing are Prps which are sold at Barneys. There is also Current Elliott worn by Reese Witherspoon. There is a little cheaper version at J Crew for $135, the vintage slim. Also Levi.com has a boyfriend cut cropped version that is only $68, but sizes are mostly gone in the camden wash.

Try on a pair of ladies 501's. Levis are where it is at. They are the original. But levis will do the trick cheaper in case you do not like the style. Current elliots are the new jean now, but they all seem to be backordered. Baggy jeans are not as hard to wear as everyone may think. You just have to get the sizing right like with every other cut of jeans.
Skinny legs went through the same reaction when released. Everyone was like "No way am I wearing those" haha...but they have stood the test of time. I think variety is key with denim. I mean how many ways can you wear a bootcut pant? I have gotten rid of most of my denim, but have kept one pair in each cut for changing the mood.
I personally wear this baggy style the most right now and have been wearing it for a bit. I love this look with denim and trousers. It is comfy and casual, and looks nice when worn proper. Though I do understand that if you are a larger size it seems harder to pull off, but it can be done. I have put on 10 lbs in the last 2 months and gone up a size.

Here are the pics asked for... *wink*

These are actual ladies 501's in one size up from my normal size.

Here are my Drkshdw jeans in one size up as well

And here are my Ann Demeulemeester trousers rolled up to show the look with a trouser, super easy look to acheive and perfect for showing off gorgeous shoes!!!

Mel your jeans are no where near as baggy as the celebs. Like you (and I) said, even if they are baggy they still need to FIT. I think you are wearing the look much better than anyone else pictured in this thead!
