Default I'm very discouraged by Dojo's. Why??

Why can't I get a pair of Dojos without wearing holes in the tush in a matter of a few months?

Does anybody know any washes that do not wear out like that? I love the look of them, but I'm pretty pissed that SFAM can charge so much for a pair of jeans that has a wear life of a few months.

Are they at least working to improve this? Anybody know? And if you look on eBay, there is a surplus of Dojos for sale with the same problem.

Bummer that that keeps happening to you! I have a ton of Dojos & have never had that happen, not even on the thin denim. But SFAM will replace it for you if you send it back to them

I have a lot of dojos too and that's never happened to me either. What's the wash?

the chain dojos, and the pink pocket dojos, both have had the rippies in the butt--

I just got a new pair of Dojos too, I was afraid cus they're a bit tight, they might have the same prob, but the denim feels thicker so I want to give it a shot, but am wondering if it's even worth it. I thought it was cus they're too tight on me that they rip, but they fit great and comfy. And it's never happened with other brands of jeans. Maybe dojo is just not right for my body type..but they look so awesome on.

these are the two I have that have holes---

(eBay photos)

and these-(i had a tailor fix the first two rips in them, and now a new hole is starting to grow right in the butt crack seam of the jeans. I can't win!)

Jules, I think you have a few of the washes that are notorious for splitting.
I think that darker pair is Antwerp, the chain ones are Fiji, and you also have Nakitas, right?

Those are three (pretty) washes that people complain about wearing out very fast.

Other washes should not be the same as those. However, a 200.00 pair of jeans should not split when a pair of cheap jeans doesn't typically do that... Sorry you have had bad luck thus far.

^^^ I agree with Samantha. The two you posted (Fiji and Antwerp) are infamous for being prone to rips. Dakota, NYD, and CAE are all thicker denim and I've never had any problems with my A pockets. Not Dojos I know, but the denim/wash is the same so I'm sure you wouldn't have problems with the Dojos.

cool. the pair I just got are the Dakota wash. It's not my favorite wash, I'd much prefer one with lighter stitching on the pocket, but ah oh well. Think it won't rip as much? I'm so afraid to keep them!

Dakota is super stretchy. My A's were tight when I first got them and I did all kinds of gymnastics trying to stretch them out. Not even a slight hint of ripping.

I've had three pairs of SFAM getting holes after some wear. I don't know why but I think for the price you pay for a pair of SFAM you should expect longer lasting pants and denim of a better quality. but that's just my opinion. none of my TRs ripped so far and I wear them more often than my SFAM.

You know its funny but we went to Miami this last weekend and went to the Last Chance Nordstrom's rack and they sell damaged returned jeans. I would venture to say that 95% of the damaged jeans were SFAM and every pair of Dojo's I saw had holes/rips in the butt. There were at least 10 pair in my size alone.

I've also seen people return the newer NYD white stitch dojos to Nordies because of the same problem so I'd be wary of getting those. They seem to be pretty thin. I have Nakita and don't have any problems and I definitely wear mine tight.

^^I have NYD and NZL which are both thinner washes and may be prone to tears in the future. However, my DUF and CAE dojos seem much thicker. I think you should be fine with Dakota. Barcelona is another thicker pair.

I think you should contact SFAM customer service and see what can be done with your torn pairs. You may be pleasantly surprised and they might exchange the torn pairs.

I'd love to contact them about replacements, anybody know how I would go about that? I went to their website but they only have customer service info for online purchases through them directly. Hrm..
